MEGAPOLITANPOS.COM: The Keraton Sumedang Larang once again held the Kirab Alit and Jamasan Pusaka ceremony, which took place in the main square (Alun-alun) of Sumedang on Monday, August 25, 2025. Jamasan Pusaka is an annual ritual tradition commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW, observed every Rabiul Awal in the Hijriyah calendar.

- The ceremony began with a procession (kirab) of sacred heirlooms from the Prabu Geusan Ulun Museum (MPGU).
- Descendants and associates of the Keraton Sumedang Larang paraded these prized heirlooms around Sumedang's Alun-alun. The heirlooms included:
- The Binokasih Crown
- Ki Mastak Sword (a legacy of Prabu Tadjimalela)
- Ki Dukun Keris (legacy of Prabu Gajah Agung)
- Panunggul Naga Keris (legacy of Prabu Geusan Ulun)
- Naga Sasra I Keris (legacy of Prabu Panembahan)
- Naga Sasra II Keris (legacy of Pangeran Kornel)
- Curuk Aul 1 and Curuk Aul II daggers (legacy of Mbah Jaya Perk)
- Following the procession, the Jamasan Pusaka ritual was conducted, involving the ceremonial cleaning of the heirlooms as a mark of respect and care for the ancestral heritage.
Significance and Participation
- The Keraton Sumedang Larang strives to preserve and pass down the cultural heritage of Sumedang's ancestors.
- Alongside the traditional rituals, the Keraton presented "Gugunungan" – a symbol of gratitude comprising local produce – to the community in celebration of Prophet Muhammad SAW's birth month (1447 H).
- The Sumedang Regency Government, through the Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office (Disparbudpora), expressed appreciation for the event.- Attendees included key figures from the Keraton Sumedang Larang, Sundanese cultural experts, academics, and representatives from international NGOs like the World Peace Organization (WPO).
